Comings & Goings Important Announcement
Dear Forefront Church Family,
Over the years, our community has grown and evolved, and as we move forward into 2024, we do so with both gratitude for the past and anticipation for the future. In the spirit of our Disruption sermon series, we want to share a disruption that may bring a mixture of emotions as we announce some comings and goings within our Forefront Church family.
Firstly, after 4 years of dedicated service, Pastor Makenzie Gomez has decided it’s time to transition away from her role as the Operations Pastor on the Executive Council of Co-Pastors. Pastor Mak has been an instrumental part of our community bringing wisdom, dedication, and a heart for service in her role. They played a critical role in ensuring Forefront operated efficiently as we shifted to a shared leadership model. While we will miss her insight, historical contributions, and presence on staff, we are grateful for the impact she has made on our community. To hear more about Pastor Mak’s journey listen to this new Forefront Conversations podcast interview.
In light of Pastor Mak's transition, we are pleased to announce that Pastor Angela Lockett-Colas will be succeeding her on the Executive Council of Co-Pastors. Pastor Angela will continue to serve as the Worship Pastor, bringing her passion for worship and ministry to this new role. An integral part of our community since August 2013, we are confident in her leadership and excited to see how she will continue to shape the future of our community.
Additionally, after 7 faithful years of service, Robbie Klein, our Technical Director, will also be transitioning from his role. Robbie has been an invaluable member of our team, contributing his talents and expertise to enhance our worship experiences and technical capabilities. While Robbie will no longer be on staff, we look forward to continuing to see him and Pastor Mak involved in the life of our church as congregants.
As we navigate these transitions, we are also excited to announce that we are in the process of finding successors for the operations and technical roles. The next steps will be announced very shortly.
On a note of celebration, we are thrilled to share that thanks to the incredible generosity of the Forefront community, we ended 2023 not only in the black but with a surplus! Your generosity has allowed us to restore staff salaries for 2023 and 2024, as well as replenish our savings to have two months of expenses in reserves. We are deeply grateful for your continued support and commitment to our shared mission.
We understand that you may have questions or desire more information about these transitions and our financial status. Therefore, we invite you to join us for Pastor Mak’s last sermon on staff and for an all-church Town Hall meeting after service (in-person and virtually) on Sunday, February 18th. This will be an opportunity for us to share more details, answer your questions, and come together as a community. All are welcome to attend, and we encourage your participation.
While Mak & Robbie will no longer be serving on staff, it won't be the last you see of them, as they plan to stay connected as congregants.
In closing, let us move forward with gratitude for the past and hope for the future. Together, we will continue to journey as a community of faith, supporting one another through times of transition and celebration.
In a spirit of synergy,
Forefront Church Leadership Team & Executive Council of Co-Pastors
