The Force of Love
There are some basic principles that we, as human beings, tend to live by. We see them everywhere from the Bible to fairy tales and fables. It's the idea that good trumps evil. That you can "catch more flies with honey than with vinegar." It's the basic truth that when we let go and show kindness to each other, rather than demanding or forcing our way, life change can come about in ways we never could've imagined.
To deal gently with our fellow man is suggested in Galatians 5: 22-23, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control."
The same thought appears in Aesop's fable of the wind and the sun, who challenged one another to see who could remove the cloak of a passing traveler. As the wind blew hard and cold, the man wrapped the cloak tightly around him. Then the sun shone and its warmth made the man take off his cloak.
It's a gentle reminder that God is love and therefore, love is the mightiest force in the world. So why not choose to embrace grace? Why not seek to live carefree before God? Cultivate a life of love and step into the forces already at work.
