WHY I SERVE: PART 3/5

For the next five weeks, we want to tell stories of people who serve with Forefront Church. We're grateful for the people of our community who live out our vision to see lives and neighborhoods restored and renewed through Jesus Christ.

Caroline Hughes

Set up Team

I remember sitting in my chair and Jen talking about the different service opportunities through the church. One was the Set Up Team. I looked around and noticed all the chairs and signage, crossed my arms, and said, "Nope! Not going to do it."

After a while, however, it stayed on my mind and I thought "Well, I am a morning person." I reached out to Jen who confirmed I'd be perfect at it! (Whether she just needed someone or really felt I could 'nail it' on set crew, I will never know.)

So, I gave it a shot and realized that I really loved it. There is nothing like starting a Sunday off praying with your community, seeing the productivity of your work, and getting the first cup of coffee.

The set up team is really committed and a dream to work with. I am extremely grateful for their dedication and hard work. Being a servant leader has introduced me and helped me firm relationships with people in the church I normally wouldn't have had the opportunity to engage with.

There is nothing like starting a Sunday off praying with your community, seeing the productivity of your work, and getting the first cup of coffee.

We're thankful for Caroline and the way she helps others experience the same special community. We look forward to hearing other stories of life change and service?

What's your story?
